Our divisions

Clinical Biochemistry

The clinical biochemistry division plays an important role in the diagnosis and management of diabetes, liver diseases, heart diseases, kidney disorders, hormone disorders and osteoporosis. It runs fully automated chemistry and immunoassay analysers.

The division is equipped to perform a wide variety of specialised investigations such as cardiac profile, renal profile, tumour markers, fertility markers, thyroid profile, therapeutic drug monitoring, arthritis profile and many more. Stringent control protocols ensure that our results are reliable and precise.

Haematology

The haematology division provides morphologic consultations for peripheral blood and bone marrow disorders, as well as a variety of other diagnostic assays.

The lab has the facilities and trained personnel to diagnose disorders that affect red cells, white cells and platelets — such as haemoglobinopathies, leukaemia and morphological abnormalities of blood cells.

Genetic Screening

Our screening laboratory is a comprehensive, one-stop facility for monitoring maternal and fetal health during pregnancy, and for testing newborn babies for congenital endocrine and metabolic conditions.

It is a platform for the early diagnosis of fetal abnormalities, chromosomal abnormalities and heritable disorders, with DELFIA technology to screen for prenatal abnormalities and newborn congenital and metabolic disorders.

Clinical Microbiology

The Department of Clinical Microbiology has Bacteriology, Mycobacteriology, Mycology and Serology sections. Samples are processed by qualified and well-experienced technical staff.

The bacteriology section is equipped with an automated blood and sterile body fluid culture system (BD BACTEC), and automated bacterial identification and antibiotic susceptibility testing (BD Phoenix ID/AST) for quick and reliable reporting. Blood-borne viral serology markers are estimated on a fully automated analyser.
